SBI Reviews takes a look at Health Benefits Of Honey – A website dedicated to those busy little honey bees that have to fly twice round our world to make 1lb of honey.

Health Benefits of Honey is owned and operated by Janette Marshall (Jan) and was first setup on 12th May 2009. Only 7 months earlier.

Jan has used a 2 column SBI block builder template to build her website, which uses a bright purple and golden brown honey, color scheme that work very well together and add a lively, vibrant feel to the site. The header graphic adds nicely to this feeling, but is a little out of sync on the homepage.

Initial impact on opening the homepage is good and the site presents very well. First impressions count and the visitor knows instantly, that there’s life here and it’s in the honey.

Jan’s site is, relatively speaking, quite young, but I count over 80 content pages in 14 sections, all with good honey focused content. There’s currently only 2 google links and 107 pages indexed together with 130 yahoo links and 84 pages indexed, but this is a very competitive niche and I’m sure if we look at Jan’s site again in 12 months it will tell a completely busier story.

Jan likes honey and she likes researching and writing about it, that’s clear. The site is young but growing steadily. It has all the right ingredients to make a great online business. A real nice honey drizzle cake.

Jan doesn’t appear to have advanced to the montization stage of building her website. There were no ads visible on any of the pages I visited.

However, I am sure Jan has already considered her monetizaton options for her Health Benefits of Honey website and that they will bring her great rewards in the future.

For instance; Waiting until visitor numbers increase to a significant number is a wise long term decision as is fully investigating potential affiliate partners prior to filling your site with google or other contectual ads.

Jan has chosen a relatively competitive niche for her website and is up against some stiff competition, primarily due to the large commercial honey market. To have reached the second page of google, yahoo and bing search results in such a short time is significant.

The primary keyword phrase ‘Benefits of Honey’ appears in no less than 2,590,000 webpages and the phrase ‘Health Benefits of Honey’ in 395,000. So, changing that keyphrase to the full site name may accelerate growth and increase the number of visitors who are more focused on the health benefits of honey rather than just searching for honey.

Similarly, moving the sites look & feel to SBI’s  new 3 column template layout, but keeping the vibrant color scheme, would slightly improve  presentation and give the visitor a more memorable  experience.
